Truly, I love the language he uses for "the dispossessed," and the argument he makes for how those who have been pushed out to the margins are the most sane of all.
Reminds me of the concept of hypersanity characterized by being calm, contained and constructive. Many such people work behind the scenes, but a few prominent examples include Nelson Mandela, Temple Grandin, and Jane Goodall. In this framework, 'normal' people are thought to have restricted worldviews and confused priorities.
Love this Jade! I don’t remember where I heard it, but somebody once said that when you reject a compliment, you also snub the person giving it. I’m still in the process of learning to believe compliments when I receive them. Glad to see another newsletter from you, friend!
That reminds me of line that didn't make the final draft: "While there is a non-zero chance everyone who has ever complimented you is part of a grand conspiracy to lie to you, it is more likely, they had a nice thought and you should just roll with that."
But all to say, thank you much and I'm glad you're in that process!
This inspired me to want to share my writing again! I often toy with the idea of do I want to share it, does it matter... so thank you. Your writing matters.
